A collaborative online platform for submitting product development idea and, after the community approval, for realizing and selling them.
Services
• Online platform where, after registration and payment of $10 fee, everyone can post a product development idea to be evaluated and selected by the community
• Selected ideas are turned into concepts jointly by the community and Quirky\'s own developers.
• When double evaluation process is passed, the concept is out for community financing. Only if a minimum number of customers commit with their credit card to purchase the product later, manufacturing is started, and the product will be launched.
• Community members who offered helpful suggestions earn “influence” points that translate into some money
• Thirty cents of every revenue dollar goes back to ideators
• community of 65,000 members
• Product ideas must retail for less than $150 and should not require integrated software
